Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ with Hyperion for DIY-Ambilight?

Hello Guys,

Now I want to extend my TV to an "Ambilight". Can anyone say if a Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ is also suitable for this?
The question is more, does the software also run on it? Maybe anyone has build a Ambilight with a Pi 3 Model A+?
Difference to the Pi 3 B(+) is half of RAM (512MB), same CPU, WLAN/Bluetooth onboard, only one USB-Port (for the grabber). GPIO - Pinout should be identical.
The Rpi should only support the Ambilight. I will use another Media-Player.

Is the GPIO-Header Pinout of the Raspberry Pi 3 A+ and B+ the same?
Especially MOSI(SPI) Pin19 and SCLK(SPI) Pin23 for the LED-Stripe?
