Hi
I just started with some Apa102. Everything works fine, but the last LED + 1 is always white.
Is this an option of Hyperion or maybe a hardware problem?
APA102 Last LED White

It is not a bug or a hardware issue - its the led protocol on the wire.
Will your strip always be longer than you need or do you plan to cut it ?
-
I don't plan to cut it.
But, I found a solution in the git logs of the APA102 driver files.I can specify the number of physically connected LEDs in the Device section of the Hyperion config with
"leds" : 90Then it works fine.
Maybe this information should be written to the wiki and included into HyperionCon. -
Yep I just went looking for it - I knew it was there cos it was my fix:
https://github.com/hyperion-project/hyperion/pull/626This is implemented more generally for all led devices in Hyperion.ng which I'm hoping will soon replace the original Hyperion.

Hi. Could you please be a little more detailed?
I am using also the APA102 and the last two LEDs stay white. So i just have to change the config file with the correct amount of leds i am using in on my tv?
Will this turn off these two leds or will they display the correct colours, like they should?

How many leds do you have in your strip ?
How many do you want to light up?
The "leds" : 90 setting is designed for people who have a strip that is too long and they don't want to cut it so it will set the spare leds to black

I have 123 LEDs in total (like i said the APA102). Using a RPI 3 with openelec. I used the german Brindosch tutorial, but in the end i did solder everything... and i added a second time power after LED 80 or so...
Interesting fact... yesterday evening i played around with the colour calibration, because since the setup i had no real time for it. it turned out, that after a reinstallation of the hyperion software on the pi and the reconfiguration i now have differnt "bugs".
now its not the last two leds, which are static white, its just the second one from the end. and another one is flickering red led 112 (counted from the beginning).
Why is that?
I mean... once i am finished with my final config... i could live with two or three LEDs going crazy, by conseilling them with some black tape... but none of the less i am curious whats causing these probs.

What happens if you set static colours ?
Use a phone app or Hyperion-remote to set the colour to red, green blue - does that make any difference ?

How can I solve this issue in hyperion-ng. I can't find a setting to specify the number of connected leds similar to "leds" : 90
