    Hey, i already built 2 setups with ws2812b, raspberry pi 3 and the default hdmi switch/splitter. These 2 setups only used 1080p, but now i have a new shiny 4k tv (https://nogis.at/produkt/nogis-one-55-2?v=1 , without a tv tuner, so i dont have to pay for public tv in austria ;)) and a fire tv stick 4k to have something to view on.

    I now plan on integrating a hdmi switch, so i can switch between my computer and fire tv stick. My primary source is the fire tv stick, because for the pc i "only" have a r9 390 for which i have to buy a active displayport to hdmi 2.0 adapter
    https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B017BQ8I54/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1

    I read the https://hyperion-project.org/threads/4k-hdr-capable-hdmi-splitter-supposedly.631/ thread, but i really dont understand which is the best splitter to choose. Since i dont have any fancy features like hdr , 10 bit, dolby vision etc l think i only need a simple 4k splitter, or am i wrong?

    I also read that i may need a splitter with 4k to 1080p downscale for the av converter, does somebody know if this is true?

    What do parts do you guys recommend for this "pipeline", does anybody have a similar setup and might want to post their parts?

    I think my setup is going to look like this:

    Fire TV Stick 4k -> HDMI Switch -> HDMI Splitter -> TV
    Computer -> R9 390 -> Club 3d DisplayPort -> Hdmi Converter -> -> Hdmi to AV -> AV -> USB -> Raspberry Pi 3 -> Arduino Nano -> WS2812B

    Thanks a lot for reading and helping me!

    Yeah but maybe you should not buy that, because it seems to not work, need to experiment a bit, if it will work, i will tell you about it.

    The new Firetv stick 4k outputs an hdcp 2.2 signal so you will have to deal with it. As far as I know, no one has been able to get the new fire tv stick 4k to output a 4k signal through hyperion. (Unless of course you are using hdfury)

    Okay good to know!
    Do you know what would happen if i use for example this splitter: https://www.amazon.de/Ligawo-3080001-HDMI-Splitter-1x2-Schwarz/dp/B016VUXKB8
    with this 4k converter from maxcl https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0...ge_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=hyperionproje-21
    Would i only get a 1080p signal at my tv or nothing at all?

    Wenn ich das richtig sehe oder?

    289 Dollar will ich halt nicht für mein Ambilight ausgeben, mein Fernseher hat nur 650 gekostet ..xD

    Gibts da keine alternative zu dem HDFURYX? Du benutzt ja HDR, ich hab kein HDR (zb den https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0...ge_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=hyperionproje-21 ?)

    Hey, wenn du kein HDR hast kannst du den X4 weglassen. Achte nur darauf, dass der von dir verlinkte HDMI => RCA Konverter HDCP 1.4 unterstützt. dann sollte es klappen. Wenn auch 4k unterstützt wird kannst du auch nen anderen Splitter nehmen. Ich würd sagen nimm den gleichen (FeinTech) aber ohne die scaler-Funktion. Das machts noch mal etwas günstiger.
